National Highways Agency is the government company responsible for planning, designing, building, operating and maintaining England’s motorways and major A roads.  Their goal is to manage and improve England’s roads, to help drivers have safer, smoother and more reliable journeys.

The move will see National Highways Agency take part of the third floor, with around 12,131 sq ft of office space being utilized.  The organization will take the space on an initial 10 year lease.  It is expected around 130 members of their workforce will move to 100 Embankment, relocating from their current home in Piccadilly.

Work on the move will start with the fitout in the new year with the organization aiming to be occupying the buildng by spring 2025.  National Highways Agency were supported through the deal by Avison Young.

This final deal caps off a successful few years for the development and highlights the recent popularity and interest in what is now one of the best known developments in the Salford and Manchester city centre area.  Having been Manchester and Salford’s top performing office of 2022, the development will be fully let by the end of 2024.

The desirable block, which was developed as a joint partnership between Ask Real Estate, Tristan Capital Partners and Salford City Council, benefits from a fantastic location, stunning views and great transport links as well as a raft of quality amenities including a roof terrace, and an enviable sustainability commitment.

Councillor Jack Youd, Deputy Salford City Mayor and Lead Member for Finance, Support Services and Regeneration said: “It’s fantastic news to be welcoming National Highways Agency to 100 Embankment, and it’s great to see the deal now completed.  The big story here though is that the development is now fully let.  Every floor is taken with new tenants, most of them moving to Salford for the first time and it’s such positive news and definitely cause for celebration that we have reached this milestone in the development’s history.

It's such an amazing development, one that we are immensely proud of.  We always knew it would be a popular choice for businesses and now it’s really positive to see the belief in our decision pay off completely.”

Jamie Hills, Development Director, Ask Real Estate added: ”The delivery and subsequent success of 100 Embankment is public:private partnership at its best.  Since its completion, we have worked closely with colleagues at Salford City Council to bring the building to its final conclusion in announcing this full occupation for which we are very proud.”
